On Sunday, 6th April, I had the privilege of leading a dynamic Vacation Bible School (VBS) training session for the South England Conference (SEC) of Seventh-day Adventists’ Children’s Ministries Department. The event was hosted at Stanborough Park School, welcoming Children’s Ministry Leaders from across the country, both in person and online through a hybrid format.
Throughout the day, participants were guided through the essentials of planning, preparing, and running an effective VBS programme. We explored key strategies for engaging children, building strong teams, managing logistics, and creating an atmosphere where children can grow in their faith, friendships, and confidence.
A highlight of the session was a whistle-stop tour of the 2025 VBS packages from Group Publishing. Leaders were introduced to the exciting new themes, resources, and Bible-rich content available for the upcoming year, equipping them with fresh ideas and tools to deliver vibrant programmes in their local communities.
I am deeply grateful to the SEC Children’s Ministries Director for the invitation to lead this important training. It was truly inspiring to see leaders from across the country — both seasoned and new — coming together with a shared passion for making a difference in the lives of children.
I look forward with great anticipation to hearing about the many VBS programmes that will be run in communities across the South England Conference. Each one has the potential to sow seeds of faith that will last a lifetime.
