My recent visit to Bedford Central Seventh-day Adventist Church on March 21st was a powerful reminder of what happens when we stop calling our young people the leaders of tomorrow and start empowering them as the leaders of today.
In my sermon, The Power of Youth, we explored Jeremiah 1:4–8 and the truth that God calls us long before we feel “ready.” Through the stories of Samuel, David, Josiah, and modern young changemakers, the message was clear: God isn’t waiting for you to grow up — He’s waiting for you to step up.
A simple rope demonstration showed that when young people hold onto Jesus, they can pull down obstacles far bigger than themselves. If they can master TikTok trends, they can master God’s Word and shape their destiny.
Our afternoon session shifted to Artificial Intelligence and how it can support ministry, learning, and community outreach. We explored how AI can help with Bible study, streamline communication, and bridge the generational gap. Young people were encouraged to take the lead in helping parents and elders navigate digital tools — using technology for God’s glory.
Whether a child is preaching their first sermon or helping the church embrace new technology, the principle remains: If it matters to you, it matters to the Master.
Let’s not block our young people — let’s bless them. Let’s be the Eli who helps our Samuels recognise God’s voice in this digital age. The time for them to lead is now.
