On March 7th, I had the privilege of presenting at the BUC Adventure Bible Experience, sharing a message entitled “Beyond the Competition: Finding Success in Living Colour.”
The Adventure Bible Experience is a wonderful opportunity for young people to immerse themselves in God’s Word, developing discipline, teamwork, and a deeper knowledge of the Bible. While the excitement of competition and the joy of doing well are important, I wanted to remind our young people that true success goes far beyond trophies or results.
The real goal of studying the Bible is not simply to know the right answers, but to allow God’s Word to come alive in our hearts and transform the way we live.
In the presentation, I explored what it means to see the Bible in “living colour”—to move beyond reading words on a page and instead experience the stories, truths, and promises of Scripture in a personal and life-changing way.
I also shared the importance of staying close to Jesus, because the closer we are to Him, the clearer His Word becomes. Real success is found not in winning a competition, but in letting God’s Word shape our character, strengthen our faith, and guide our daily lives.
As Proverbs 4 reminds us:
“Pay attention to my words… keep them deep in your heart.”
My prayer is that every child involved in ABE will not only grow in Bible knowledge but will also grow in their relationship with Jesus, discovering that the greatest victory is a transformed life.

Let’s continue encouraging our young people to go beyond the competition and discover the lasting success that comes when God’s Word lives in full colour in their hearts.
